Papa Pat's Farmhouse Recipes
Papa Pat's has a two fold purpose: First, to provide you with products reminiscent of the smells and flavors coming from Grandma's kitchen. To do this we use only the freshest ingredients available. We've researched hundreds of recipes, many that are 75 to 100 years old to provide you with this enjoyment. Second, to provide jobs for people with disabilities. Hodan Center, Inc. provides job opportunities to over 125 people with disabilities. The introduction of this new line of products has greatly expanded the job options for our client-employees.
All the clients of the center work in some kind of "industry" at Hodan Center. Everyone in the Food Service industry plays an active role in producing the best food items available. Some of the jobs they do are work in the field tending the plants, harvesting the produce; putting lids on jars, putting labels on jars, wiping the jars; cutting produce into specified sizes, working with the food items cooking, filling jars with finished products, and many other jobs. Everyone does something. Everyone has a vested interest in Papa Pat's Farmhouse Recipes. Some of the recipes are family recipes from Papa Pat's mother. Some are from other employees. The names for the items (ie., Ella's Peach Raspberry Jam) come from the names of the clients. The beans are named for Christine Ann, whose favorite job was picking green beans.
Every aspect of the food industry production is very closely supervised, for the well-being of the client workers and in order to produce superior food items. Papa Pat's Farmhouse Recipes is owned and operated by Hodan Center, Inc., a community rehabilitation program serving adults with disabilities living in southwest Wisconsin.
